Situated in a pocket of oak woodlands in Northern California’s Portola Valley, Field Architecture’s recently-completed Hillside House gently cascades down a hill, echoing the natural slope of the site.  Floor to ceiling windows showcase breathtaking views of one of the most famous valleys in the world – Silicon Valley.  The indoors and outdoors conflate with a single plane of mahogany wood floors that extend beyond glass panes into an Ipe deck that bends its way around the structure, spilling into the garden with its outdoor dining room, play area, and shaded patio.
